IFLA Africa will be organising the 6th IFLA Africa Symposium entitled: “Landscape, Landscape Architects and Sustainable cities” 11-12 October 2019, in Tunis.
The Symposium is organised by the Tunisian Association of Landscape Architects and Engineers (TALAE).
The symposium will analyse the contribution of landscape in the design of sustainable urban renewal and how it can generate identity and urban social functioning.During this edition, the accent will also be placed on the recognition of the Landscape Architecture profession, that requires a solid educational programmethat stands up to international scrutiny. In Africa, the implementation of a sustainable development approach is becoming widespread butdoes not systematically take into account the global approach of the sustainable urban landscape, which is essential to reach the dream landscape of the city of tomorrow. Landscape professionals show, through their practices, over the years, that landscaping and nature in the city are real issues and cannot longer take second place.
