The committee main goals are:

  • Continue to develop the website as a central communication means;
  • Continue to review & develop effective and efficient interactive communications with IFLA  and all other appropriate agencies and professional bodies within the Council of Europe (CoE) & European Union (EU);
  • Assist, where reasonably practical, the promotion of CoE and EU landscape policies, directives & agreements. Promote the European Landscape Convention (ELC);
  • Promote, where reasonably practical and relevant, European-wide conferences and seminars;

 

Strategic areas

EXECUTIVE COMMUNICATION
Dissemination of information to member associations and delegates;
Updating of information on the IFLA Europe website;
Coordination with website provider and administrator;
Undertake of translation when necessary;
Promote social networks integration into national association websites.

EUROPEAN COMPETITIONS AND AWARDS
continue to improve, generate and foster IFLA Europe interim Competitions and Awards (e.g. Young professionals, Image competition, etc.);
select appropriate competitions and awards programmes to be promoted via IFLA Europe media;
develop approved guidance for standards within IFLA Europe competitions and monitor and assess its effectiveness.

EUROPEAN MAGAZINES AND PUBLICATIONS
select appropriate Press releases to be published in IFLA Europe media;
select appropriate books and research papers to be reviewed in IFLA Europe media;
regularly update the list of acknowledged publishers and publications;
develop the online IFLA Europe Journal;
develop the Yearbook.

EUROPEAN EVENTS, EXHIBITIONS AND WORKSHOPS
promote appropriate events, symposia, seminars, lectures and partner organisation activities via IFLA Europe media;
select appropriate landscape architecture-related exhibitions, films and televisual productions to be reviewed in IFLA Europe media;
select appropriate continual professional development (CPD) or long life learning (LLL) initiatives to be promoted via IFLA Europe media.

EUROPEAN VISIBILITY
online posters, flyers and leaflet design for all strategic initiatives;
hard-copy posters, flyers and leaflet design (as necessary) for specific conferences;
promote, edit and update social networking sites (e.g. Facebook, Linked-In, Twitter, etc.);
compile data base for distribution;
promote, edit and update IFLA Europe  website;
prepare, edit & distribute the IFLA Europe  Journal;
prepare, edit & distribute the IFLA Europe Yearbook;
promote IFLA Europe General Assembly together with new Regional Congress venue.

EUROPEAN REGIONAL CONGRESS
Coordinating, generating and directing whenever reasonable or possible in order to have annual IFLA Europe Regional Congresses.

EUROPEAN EMPLOYMENT VACANCIES, TRAINEES AND OPPORTUNITIES
Internship, office liaison, trainees and trainee opportunities;
Promote appropriate employment opportunities, with specific reference to European cross-border operations.

CODE OF CONDUCT AMONG MEMBERS
Strictly follow social network ethical codes, report misuse of the network immediately. Survey.
