The Landscape Observatory of Catalonia, with the collaboration of the City Council of Santa Coloma de Cervelló, is organising the Paisajes Refugio day (Landscape refugee Day), which will take place in the Colonia Güell Crypt on Thursday, December 13, 2018.
In a tired and accelerated world, where noise is always present and silence is absent and retreating, more and more people are looking for a landscape in which they can rediscover themselves or through which, simply, can escape from the pressure in which they live. There are those who find it in the forest, in the mountains, or in inaccessible and half-lost spots facing the sea, where nature manifests itself in a wilder way. In relation to them, the myth of the cabin is, surely – and historically -, the best embodiment of this growing and incessant search for retreat, shelter, silence. There are, however, able to find these places in everyday landscapes. This is how some concrete spaces and even passengers appear in which to contemplate the landscape or to live together with it on a daily basis in the peripheries or even within cities. Both act as reservoirs and even small shelters from which they claim and claim values that the Landscape Observatory of Catalonia wants to echo.
Seminar program is here attached, which you can also find on our website along with the instructions for registration. There will be a simultaneous translation service from Catalan and French into Spanish.
