2016 IFLA Europe General Assembly will take place at the Conference room of Novotel Centre Tour Noir hotel (Rue de la Vierge Noire 3).
2016 IFLA EUROPE General Assembly will take place 14-16 October 2016 in Brussels, Belgium. Please note that due to circumstances, there will be no Conference this year. We will have visit to the gardens and parks in Brussels on Friday, 14 October in the afternoon. You are kindly requested to confirm whether you will be participating so that we can provide the necessary transport.
The General Assembly will take place at the Conference room of Novotel Centre Tour Noire hotel (designated IFLA Europe hotel). The best way to get from the airport to the hotel is by train. The airport train station is located below the terminal (basement level-1). Please visit https://www.belgianrail.be/fr/ to check the train schedule. After the 22/03 attacks additional security measures may apply so please visit http://www.brusselsairport.be/en/ .
At the airport, take a direct train direction Brussels Central station. At Brussels Central, you can take metro 1 (purple line) or 5 (orange line) every 5 mins. Get off at metro station De Brouckere. The hotel is 200m away (see map attached).
If you are arriving from the Gare du Midi, take a tram number 3 (direction Esplanade) or number 4 (direction Gare du Nord) in the underground of the Gare du midi, get off at the station De Brouckère (four stops). The hotel is at 200 m (map attached). If you are arriving by car, there is parking “Parking 58” just outside the hotel.

VISIT TO THE GARDENS
We planned a visit to the Museum Garden in Gaasbeek on Friday 14 October 2016 from 14.00 – 18.00 hrs.
The Gaasbeek Museum Garden covers almost 2,5 hectares now and includes 6 major divisions. It harbours a fine selection of hard and small fruit, vegetables, ornamental perennials and conservatory plants and climbing roses dating from around 1900. During your visit you will enjoy and learn more about the Flemish art of gardening from 1860 till 1940 by trying to preserve and pass on the traditional horticultural skills from the past.
