Switching the focus from car-oriented to a place where people are living
The landscape we were given: an everyday landscape with a focus on cars and the priority of moving around quickly.80% of the space is occupied by the street –the remaining 20% is given to the pedestrians and allow for a life besides the cars.
Project from Willisau, Switzerland:Renewal of the old town center. What was built: a place for people to wander around, shop or relax, sit in a street café or ride the bike.
