About the Conference
The era we are living in provides for major investments to initiate an overall “ecological” European transition. This transition was activated by the recent criticalities caused by the ongoing climate changes. With respect to these changes, there is no “going back” and it is necessary to change, “vary”, the planning and management approach of the territories and urban areas, adopting new adaptive criteria to the transformations underway. Landscape projects, in addition to restoring formal quality to space and improving the quality of life of people, operate with natural and mineral strategies and techniques in this sense, guaranteeing effective results with limited resources and construction times.
The PNRR (National Recovery and Resilience Plan) and the European Green Deal provide for the implementation of strategic projects (for the PNRR, carried out by 2026 and planned by 2023) and it is essential that these works are truly capable of evolving, “varying” the transformations taking place. To obtain the expected results with certain and rapid deadlines, it is necessary to activate specialized professional skills (including interdisciplinary ones), raising the cultural and technical level in the country and applying a “landscape” approach and coordination, that is with an integrated and holistic vision, as well as which is capable of considering the material and immaterial transformations taking place, within the evolutionary process between past and future.
