bdla events to promote German landscape architecture
Former president of bdla, Till Rehwaldt, will present online the German landscape architecture in a „Welcome Class“. It is the main objective to give professionals and youngsters wishing to work and study in Germany a general overview. Addressed issues will be the variety of work fields, national laws and regulations, the difference
between landscape architecture and landscape planning or the range of study courses offered at German universities. The Welcome Class is free of charge.

15th German Landscape Architecture Award
On the evening of May 13, the honors in the 15th year of the German Landscape Architecture Award competition will be presented at the Allianz Forum at the Brandenburg Gate. This event, to which the organizers and sponsors again expect around 400 guests, is the highlight of the event and at the same time the crowning conclusion of this year’s competition. Starting at 18:00, the first prize and nine awards will be presented, and the “showcase” of German landscape architecture will be newly “decorated” with high-quality, innovative projects that have attracted national and international attention and that symbolize the range of tasks of the profession.

New bdla online format for career changers from June - September 2022
The general shortage of skilled workers in Germany is also strongly felt in landscape architecture. Therefore, the bdla offers a completely new format to support its member offices in the qualification of lateral entrants: the Green Basics Academy. The free seminars serve the training and further training - in particular of specialized colleague inside and abroad trained coworker inside.
In four online events from June to September 2022, the basics of landscape architecture, such as construction technology, plant use and open space planning, will be taught and provided with scripts and learning videos for self-study. Speakers will be landscape architects and renowned professors from various German universities. All seminars will be held in German, and there will be an opportunity to discuss individual questions after each lecture. It is possible to register for individual seminars.
