Documentary “Everything is Landscape: Register of Landscape Architecture in Portugal (Tudoé Paisagem)” by Duarte Natário, Landscape Architect from Portugal
Documentary “Everything is Landscape: Register of Landscape Architecture in Portugal (Tudo é Paisagem)” was realised Duarte Natário, Landscape Architect with the support of the Portuguese Association of Landscape Architects (APAP). The film Tudo é Paisagem is a search for the origins, projects, stories and names that have distinguished Portuguese Landscape Architecture until today.
From the first to his last reference project and through meetings, photographs and memories, Duarte Natário decided to take a journey through Landscape Architecture in an attempt to unravel the legacy of the profession in our country.
This documentary, now available online - https://vimeo.com/335892134 - premiered last year at the Gulbenkian Foundation in Lisbon and its objective is to make known to society in general the profession and its legacy and relevance in Portugal.
We believe that the message to be conveyed by this documentary can be an excellent contribution to the valuation of the profession and its intrinsic values both in Portugal and abroad.
Duarte Natário is a Landscape Architect, obtained the Master’s degree from the University of Porto, Faculty of Sciences. In 2012 he interrupted his studies in Sustainable Urbanism and Regional Planning to conduct a fellowship at the British School at Rome to study the Italian Landscape, after we has presented the IFLA Sir Geoffrey Jellicoe Fellowship in Landscape Architecture, being the second Landscape Architect at this institution after Geoffrey Jellicoe. He did his Erasmus mobility program at the University of Rome, Faculty Ludoviquo Quaroni and his academic internship in the company LAND, Milan, where he developed skills such as image editing, project management and design. After graduation he started working in the Plan of Action Qualification of the Environment in Northern Portugal, as a collaborator. After that was invited for a project undertaken for the city of Póvoa de Varzim, Portugal, which consisted in a re-qualification project for the square Calafate, in front of the city’s Casino. After some freelance work he did an internship at PROAP Italia, under the management of João Ferreira Nunes, collaborated with office ABBV in Porto, with the Landscape Architect Luís Guedes de Carvalho. After his experience in Berlin at TOPOTEK1 he is nowstarting his own landscape architecture practice in Porto.
