Dutch School of Landscape Architecture Crossing Borders: discussing internationalisation in landscape architecture! Webinar & book launch on 29 October 2020!

How can we add value to the quality of higher education, research and professional practice? And given the current situation with the COVID-19-pandemic: how can we move forward and contribute globally as a profession? On October 29th the DSL organises the webinar and book launch ‘Crossing borders: discussing internationalisation in Landscape Architecture’. You are all cordially invited to join the talks. Please sign up and receive the web link to the event. Participating is free of charge.

The Book

Internationalisation is everywhere: more and more professional practices seek clients abroad and the number of international researchers, teachers and students in higher education is increasing. While observing, responding and anticipating to these trends, the most important question is overlooked:how can internationalisation add value to the quality of higher education, research and professional practice. In this book, teachers, researchers, students and landscape architect designers –from Dutch and non-Dutch background share their experiences and sketch their perspective, both professionally and personally.

The webinar

Close to the finish line of making the book the COVID-19-pandemic started. Does this change the way we look at the theme of the book: internationalisation? The book launch event gives us the opportunity to discuss this topic from different angles in relation to our profession. For this talk the following people have been invited:

· Joao Cortesao, Assistant Professor at Wageningen University

· Gintaras Stauskis professor of the Department of Urban Design at Vilnius Gedimino Technical University.

· Marie-Laure Hoedemakers, landscape architect and partner at Lodewijk Baljon Landscape Architects

· Paan Rapa Surajaras and Catalina Rey Hernández, alumni of TU Delft

The event starts with an introduction by Eric Luiten (Delft University). Agnés Patuano (Wageningen University) will lead the discussion.
