European University Association (EUA) webinar on ‘The European Green Deal and universities: A roadmap for the sector’ 4 December 2023, 14-15.30 CET
The European University Association (EUA) is pleased to invite you to an upcoming webinar on ‘The European Green Deal and universities: A roadmap for the sector’. The event will take place online on 4 December 2023 from 14.00-15.30 CET.
During the event, EUA will present its recent report ‘A Green Deal roadmap for universities’. Then, together with the European Commission and the Bruegel think tank, we will discuss the challenges and opportunities for universities to contribute to the Green Deal and how the roadmap can support their contribution.
The wide-ranging ambitions of the European Green Deal provide a policy framework to integrate the scientific, educational, and institutional dimensions of universities’ contribution to the green transition. To this end, EUA has developed ‘A Green Deal roadmap for universities’ to boost universities’ impact and visibility in pursuing a climate-neutral, environmentally sustainable, and socially equitable Europe.

Universities are in a unique place to address these issues, bringing together researchers, innovators, public and private sectors, as well as their surrounding communities. Beyond their role as producers and stewards of knowledge, universities also connect existing knowledge to develop new framings on societal challenges. No less important is
universities’ place at the centre of local communities and regions.
Leveraging these assets effectively also requires action on the part of the sector to transform itself. This webinar will discuss how the roadmap can serve as an inspiration and template for universities to make both an effective contribution to the Green Deal and serve as exemplars of sustainable communities.
We look forward to welcoming you online on Monday, 4 December. Registrations are now open and free of charge for anyone interested in this topic. Participants can sign up until the start of the event. https://web-eur.cvent.com/event/5f30d5e3-21bf-46f9-bd90-f8ad35a5b94a/regProcessStep1
