IFLA Europe participates in New European Bauhaus Festival 2024!

The second edition of the New European Bauhaus Festival is drawing near! The first line-up of speakers and the agenda are now online. Have a look for a sneak peek of what awaits you.

We are thrilled to announce that IFLA Europe representative, Didier Vancutsem, Vice President for Professional Practice, will represent IFLA Europe at the high-level New European Bauhaus Conference on 11 April 2024.

From 9-13 April 2024, the New European Bauhaus Festival is coming back for its second edition, centring at the Parc du Cinquantenaire/Jubelpark and the Art & History Museum in Brussels, with Satellite events all around Europe.

President von der Leyen, Belgian Prime Minister De Croo, as well as Commissioners Ferreira, Ivanova, Hahn, and Sinkevičius will participate in the Festival. Industry leaders in art, architecture, design, sustainability, innovation and more will also take part.

The Festival will focus on the results achieved since the launch of the New European Bauhaus three years ago. It will showcase New European Bauhaus projects, celebrate success stories, and give an opportunity to the community to meet, exchange, and build further networks. It will be composed of four tracks of activities:

Forum for discussions on the New European Bauhaus, Fair for showcasing projects, Fest for a cultural celebration, and Satellite events organised independently in Brussels and other places around Europe and globally.

On 12 and 13 April 2024 IFLA Europe will have a booth at the NEB Festival FAIR where participants will be able to learn more about IFLA Europe, landscape architecture profession and NBS for transforming urban landscapes.

On 18 April 2024 IFLA Europe will also organise a satellite NEB event - Conference ‘Re-envisionning European Landscapes’ together with Faculty of Architecture La Cambre Horta Brussels and CIVA as a part of Interreg funded Euro-Med Project ‘Bauhaus4Med”.

NEB Festival 2024 will also officially launch one of the first New European Bauhaus Academy projects and host the award ceremony of the fourth edition of the New European Bauhaus Prizes on 12 April. This year, the Prizes will include a special award recognising recovery and reconstruction efforts in the spirit of the New European Bauhaus in Ukraine.

Access to the Festival is free. No registration is required except for the Opening Ceremony and the NEB Prizes Ceremony where registration is open to anyone wishing to attend within the venue capacities.
