PHALA - Panhellenic Association of Landscape Architects marks World Landscape Architecture Month: two webinars “New trends in Landscape Architecture based on EU Green Deal Challenges”
The European Green Deal is a new growth strategy that aims to transform the EU into a fair and prosperous society, with a modern, resource-efficient and competitive economy with no net emissions of greenhouse gasses by 2020 and with a decoupling of economic growth from resource use. It aims to protect, conserve and enhance the EU’s natural capital, as well as the health and well-being of citizens from environment related risks and impacts.
In order to respond to the EU Green Deal challenges and the United Nation’s 2030 Sustainable Development Goals, Landscape Architects seek to find new ways to ensure sustainability through the valuation of nature and ecosystem services, to provided qualitative and healthy landscapes, as well as preserve collective memory, heritage and culture and create places that anticipate social and economic well-being.
Responding to these challenges, the Panhellenic Association of Landscape Architects invites you to two circle webinars, in English and Greek, aimed to tackle above mentioned issues by presenting new trends forwards, biodiversity recognition as a source for sustainable economy and development, Nature Based Solutions, climate change mitigation measures and circular economy as a framework to enhance economic and environmental resilience.
Speakers from Greece and abroad will highlight the critical role of Landscape Architects in relation to the EU Green Deal challenges, through theoretical and practical examples of their work.
