“Reopening: Manifesto for Landscape” by AIAPP - Italian Association of Landscape Architecture LAMS Region (Lazio, Abruzzo, Molise and Sardinia)
IFLA Europe supports the “Manifesto for the Landscape” launched by our member Italian Association of Landscape Architecture, its Region AIAPP LAMS (Lazio, Abruzzo, Molise and Sardinia)!
The themes of urban regeneration, a circular economy, reforestation, increasing ecological networks and a more conscientious tourism, linked to training and education for the upcoming generations, are all crucial issues to which AIAPP has always been involved. Our association plans and carries out awareness-raising activities and the wide dissemination of best practices, all of which are as much needed for the landscape as they are for the collective community.
Manifesto is addressed to all citizens, not only the institutions and administrations, but as well to the various professionals, artisans, intellectuals, artists, communities and associations that live in and transform the landscape on a daily basis.
The Manifesto is an act against fragmentation, a call for the creation of places where communities can interact, to take back public space, protect and safeguard for the existing landscape, encouraging exchange and common activity and developing relationships with the landscape and entire environmental context.
The Manifesto is meant as an act of love for nature and in support of the right of the individual to live in and enjoy the landscape. It is also a reflection on the value of caring for and protecting specific sites and places, especially those to which we have personal ties.
This is the moment to define new planning and new prospects, to take concrete educational steps and encourage community planning and landscape protection.
Faced with today’s reality, we feel it’s important to have a shared strategy and encourage new forms of collaboration.
