UCTEA Chamber of Turkish Landscape Architects: 8th National Landscape Architecture Congress - Landscape and City
The 8th National Landscape Architecture Congress entitled Landscape and City, organized by the UCTEA Chamber of Turkish Landscape Architects, aims to reflect and discuss the dynamic relationship between landscape and city, addressing our struggle with global crises that cause spatial, social, and environmental inequalities.
To provide a cross-disciplinary discussion ground, the Congress invites all researchers to think about the interaction between landscape and city through the five tracks: Method, Representation, Context, Scale, and Concept.
Method
To discuss the relationship between landscape and city through research, design and application methods specific to landscape architecture as well as methods produced or can be produced by interdisciplinary interaction (architecture, urbanism, ecology, engineering, art, etc.).
Representation
To discuss the representation and change of landscape in different historical periods; the conceptual representation of landscape in architecture, urbanism and art, as well as the design process and changing landscape representation methods with digital technologies.
Context
To discuss landscape continuity/discontinuity in multiple and broad contexts, questioning the professional, academic, legal, administrative and territorial boundaries, based on the boundlessness of the landscape.
Scale
To question conventional and strictly defined scales and to discuss the different, multiple and intertwined scales of landscape through research, practice, education and design.
Concept
To discuss the basic concepts of landscape and the concepts emerging from the interaction of landscape architecture with other professions through research, practice, education and design areas.
The congress will take place in Ankara, Turkiye on 27-28-29 April 2023 with 14 invited speakers, 16 academic sessions and 2 panel sessions entitled “Disaster Resilient Cities” and “Landscape and City from the Perspective of CSOs”.
