UNESCO-Greece Melina Mercouri International Prize for the Safeguarding and Management of Cultural Landscapes has been extended until 31 May!
Please be advised that the deadline for submitting nominations for the 2021 edition of the UNESCO-Greece Melina Mercouri International Prize for the Safeguarding and Management of Cultural Landscapes (formerly 30 April 2021) has been extended until 31 May2021.
Funded by the Greek Government, this Prize seeks to reward exemplary actions undertaken by individuals, institutions or organizations to safeguard and enhance the world’s outstanding cultural landscapes.
The Prize was created in 1995, to pay tribute to Melina Mercouri, a former Minister of Culture strongly dedicated to heritage conservation. It was renewed at the 202nd session of UNESCO’s Executive Board in October 2017.
The laureate of the 2021 Prize will receive an award of USD 30,000. Please find attached the Statues of the Prize (Annex l), as well as the documents to be included in the nomination files (Annex II).
