WHO launch of Report on ‘The value of urban green and blue spaces for health and well-being’ 22 May 2023 10.30–11.45 CEST
The value of urban green and blue spaces for health and well-being
A growing body of evidence demonstrates the potential of urban green and blue spaces to support and promote health and well-being. These impacts can be used to value the multifunctional benefits (and risks) derived from urban nature. To better prioritize public investments, urban planning and design should take account of the value of nature – for environmental, social and health benefits, and in economic terms.
On the occasion of the International Day for Biodiversity, the WHO European Centre for Environment and Health will launch a report “Assessing the value of urban green and blue spaces for health and well-being”. The webinar will show some examples of nature values and present the different approaches to assess urban green and blue spaces and their impacts on health and well-being.
