Fritz Auweck
Biography
Fritz A. Auweck is Landscape architect and Urban planner.
He is member of the Bavarian Chamber of Architects (ByAK), of the German Association of Landscape Architects (BDLA) and of the German Academy for Urban and Regional Spatial Planning (DASL).
He is long time engaged for developing the profession of Landscape Architects. Since 1996 he is active in the International Federation of Landscape Architects (IFLA), specifically in the European section IFLA Europe, former EFLA, as Vice President Education, as President (2009-10), and present in the Professional Practice Committee as Project Manager of several projects. He is the chairman for International Affairs of BDLA and BAK (German Federal Chamber of Architects) and BAK delegate to IFLA/IFLA Europe. He is also active in the Bavarian Academy for Rural Development (ALR) and the Bavarian School for Village and Rural Development (SDL Thierhaupten) since long time. Fritz Auweck is IFLA Europe Honorary Member.
Fritz Auweck was from 1985 to 2013 Professor for Landscape- and Regional Development at the University of Applied Sciences Weihenstephan-Triesdorf (HSWT), Faculty Landscape Architecture. Since 2013 he continues teaching at HSWT in the master course International Master of Landscape Architecture (IMLA).
Since 1991 to 2016 he was active in his former own private company which is now part of the European SWECO group. By this he did a lot of village renewal and rural development projects.
Fritz Auweck has long experience in teaching, professional practice and research. His main focus and also subjects of research are cross community development, landuse planning, village renewal and public participation. land use in metropolitan areas. He is also active in European research projects to develope the profession in countries of East Europe.
