2018 / Revealing the water / A – Ideas
The project is an exploration of a water treatment environment as a place of recreation, education and enhanced biodiversity.
Water is the basis for human life, moreover the infrastructure for transporting and treating water forms the foundation of urban settlements. This infrastructure is an ever-expanding, invisibly maintained network sustaining everyday life. Furthermore, this has removed the experience of water from the urban realm.
This project aims to connect people with water and raises issues regarding water conservation. It aims to reveal the elements of water network and uncover its potential to enrich the experience of urban realm. It also explores how we can improve urban freshwater quality.
By applying techniques of biological water treatment, the project seeks to challenge the way water and wastewater is perceived and treated today and to make people more aware of the processes of water.
